Dear parents and friends of Salesian Secondary College
Every year, Salesian Secondary College and its Parents’ Association organise the Salesian Cycle Challenge as a fundraiser for local charities. Our last three events of 2018, 2019 and 2022 have raised over €13, 000 thanks to you, our cyclists, and our generous sponsors.
This year we are fundraising for our students with additional needs in our school with a view to purchasing adapted/modified sports equipment such as oversized shuttlecocks for playing badminton and modified bicycles and more.
The event is taking place on March 26th, 2023 (registered with Cycle Ireland) and comprises of a 40km & 80km cycle in West Limerick.
The Salesian Cycle Challenge has become an important part of our school calendar and in previous years we have had up to 200 cyclists take part. This is the first long cycle in West Limerick, and many athletes use our cycle as a taster for the season. Over 50 volunteers are involved on the day to marshal the event on the road and serve food at the various food stops.
We will need your help: marshalls, food prep and sponsors. Keep and eye on your emails and post, and make sure to check our Facebook page and School app for further information! There will also be a donation option on our school’s app coming up soon.
Best regards and dust off your bikes!
