Last Thursday’s challenge came from St Michael’s of Listowel and a challenge it was. Our Minor boys began the day with a nail biter from beginning to end. A wonderful team performance in the final 2 quarters brought us back to a level game with a minute to go. With the boys pushing hard for the win, it left us exposed to a counter attack in which we were punished dearly for. Our boys fought to the bitter end but unfortunately lost out on a scoreline of 28 vs 24 in the end. 
 
Our Junior boys suffered the same fate. We began slowly and allowed St Michael’s a 23 to 8 lead by the end of the first quarter. When our boys eventually woke up and played to their ability they pulled this deficit back bit by bit. The showed tremendous determination to keep fighting to the very last second but unfortunately it wasn’t to be our day running out a 54 to 42 loss on the day. We will go again next week with Mungret to play in our final game.
