Please read, this is open to Transition Year students next year (2026/27). Further information on TY will be shared in the coming weeks but if your son/daughter is interested in this please apply by next Monday, 2nd March.

The Limerick Sports Partnership would like to invite your students to apply for a position on the

Voluntary Inspired Participation (VIP) programme. (See enclosed flyer)

The programme runs:

Day: Mondays (September – May)

Time: 9.30-4.00

Venue: UL Sport Arena

Additional days: Throughout the year the LSP may ask students to assist with sports

events and seminars. We believe that volunteering at these events will help students

to develop as coaches and leaders, however, their inclusion at these events will be

subject to permission from both the school and parents.

VIP TY Programme 2026-27

The year long ‘Voluntary Inspired Participation’ programme identifies local Limerick city and county teenagers who are not necessarily sports stars but have shown potential to become future coaches and leaders in the sport and physical activity sector.

Volunteers are the backbone of sport and physical activity in the community and hence Limerick Sports Partnership feel it was important to support, develop and mentor local teenagers to become sports and physical activity volunteers/ leaders in Limerick. Successful participants will attend the VIP programme every Monday during the school year and participate in sports courses, coaching opportunities and LSP events.

This programme is for teenagers aged 15 – 17 years. Participants must be 16 years of age by the 30th April 2027.

Fill out details below to express your interest for the 2026/27 programme.

Note: Expressions of Interest  will close on Monday, 2nd of March, 2026.
