Changing Perceptions – The 21st Century Accountant.

What a fantastic day out in Cook Medical for our TY Accounting students. Our day started with a meet and greet breakfast and was followed by a tour of the plant where students got an insight of the inner workings of a Multi-National company.

After the tour students had a “speed dating” session with 10 different accountants from the company who talked to us about the different aspects of their jobs and how they came to be accountants.

After lunch and a quick walk it was time for the students to show the experts at Cook Medical their business knowledge in a competition designed by the company. All students were congratulated with the detail of their presentations and the judges found it difficult to pick a winner.

Overall it was a great day out and with many inspired students looking at possible future careers in the area of accountancy.
