AILO – Congrats.. through to The National Final

The All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO) 2022 Preliminary Round took place on January 24th. Over 700 Students from 73 schools took part from all over the island. The top 100 students are invited to take part in The National Final which will take place in-person in Dublin City University on Wednesday 9th March 2022. 

 

Congratulations to Matteo Jeanneau- Zoncada, 5th year and Louise Wade, 3rd year who have qualified for The National Final. 

 

Well done to all students who took part.  Participating students will receive certificates in April.

 

Finally, to celebrate the Isle of Man hosting the International Linguistics Olympiad in 2022 the Isle of Manx Post Office is issuing a commemorative set of six stamps. The designs of the stamps will be selected by open competition, with the six winning designs receiving a collectable ‘first day cover’ presentation pack of the commemorative stamps, and a prize worth £100 Sterling. The theme of the design is ‘Language’ and submission” target=”_blank” title=”https://iol2022.org/design-a-stamp-competition/”>submission”>https://iol2022.org/design-a-stamp-competition/”>submission deadline is 20th February. This might be something fun and different for students to have a go at!
