As you may know we hold an annual Career Fair for sixth year students on the first Wednesday back to school in the New Year. This year it is Wednesday the 8th of January from 2 to 3.20 in the PE hall.
The Career Fair is normally made up from our community of past students but last year we asked parents to help and come in if they were in a position to do so. The parents that came really added to the learning experience and many of last year’s class were quoting what they said back to us and even took up a course to lead them to that career. A great success!
This year, we are extending the Career Fair to Fifth Year students who have an interest in coming and who are willing to fill out a plan for their time at the career fair.
We would like to ask parents for their help again this year and to attend the Career Fair to represent their career area if they can. We welcome all careers but we are particularly looking for the following:
All healthcare sectors, especially OT, SLT, Physio and all types of nursing/midwifery
All types of apprenticeships
Beauty and Hairdressing
People who are employed in public jobs such as tax/revenue/court services. etc…
Please consider helping out if you can as it is a very rich learning experience for students. As adults know, choosing a career is a very difficult task and one that has a huge impact on your life.
