Cross Curricular Success Showcased in Public Art Display
September 30, 2024
We are proud to present an outstanding example of cross-curricular collaboration at our school. Congratulations to the Digital Manufacture Department, led by Kevin Geaney, and to our recently graduated LCA construction students led by Brian McGreal, along with Transition Year (TY) art students Claire Harty, Sarah Kinnane, and Alex Gilteane, coordinated by Ms. Mulcahy.
Together, they have created a unique public art display that beautifully represents our school crest. This masterpiece was skillfully constructed using a variety of woods and expertly sculpted into our crest. Surrounding the crest are circular blocks of raw timber, inscribed with key words from our school ethos such as Reason, Religion, Kindness and Belonging. These words are woven together by branches with semi-abstract leaves in the colors of our crest. This motif symbolises how these values are interwoven into all our interactions in our school.
This display is a true testament to the pride that both our students and teachers have in our school and its values. It will stand as a lasting reminder of the shared ethos of our community. We are all very proud of this achievement and grateful for the creativity and dedication of those who brought it to life.
