Our teams entered the Shooting the Breeze Competition, organised and sponsored by the Shannon Foynes Port. Both our teams placed in the top 5 and we also had the opportunity to learn about wind energy and explore Foynes Port. It was such a valuable learning experience for all of us. We got to understand the power of wind and how it can be harnessed to generate clean and renewable energy. Plus, exploring Foynes Port gave us a real life glimpse into the logistics and operations of a major port. It was truly eye opening. We are all so proud of the work, time and effort put into this project and all that we accomplished. The winning team was St Joseph’s secondary school from Spanish point.
We look forward to our day of sailing in the port along with the other top 5 placing schools.
