We are pleased to inform you that our school is now using Athena Analytical, a cutting-edge educational software designed to support students in reaching their full academic potential. Athena works by analysing a student’s past academic data, performance trends, and other relevant indicators to generate a realistic target grade for each subject. This grade represents the level we believe each student is capable of achieving with consistent effort and focus.
As part of this new system, all 6th Year subject teachers will be asking students to identify their target grade ahead of the November assessments. These targets will help guide classroom focus, personal study, and teacher support.
In addition, every 6th Year student has been assigned an Academic Advisor. Following the November assessments, each student will meet with their advisor to review their performance. During these meetings, advisors will discuss whether the student is working above, below, or in line with their potential and expected grade, and offer guidance on how best to progress.
We are confident that this tailored and data-informed approach will enhance student motivation, focus, and overall performance in the lead-up to their Leaving Cert.
