Mindful Monday
Mindfulness has been around for a long time but lately it seems that everyone is practicing it or talking about it. The benefits are huge.
Resilience
Mental Health
Wellbeing
Happiness
Positive Emotions
Empathy
Why not give it a try this week, maybe during lunchtime, after school or just before you relax for the night.
Simple Mindful Techniques include:
Counting Sets of four Breaths- This is a simple Mindfulness technique that anyone can do. Even the youngest of students who can count to four can enjoy seeing how many sets of breaths they can count. This tool teaches mindfulness, focus, present moment awareness and letting go of distractions. This practice can be very calming as well as fun. Give it a go.
The stop Technique – this technique is very useful in times of exam stress.
S- Stop
T- Take a breath
O- Observe
P- Proceed

Mindful Poem
The Guest House – Rumi
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house?
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honourably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
Enjoy Mindful Monday
Kind Regards
