Request for Help – Salesians at work in Ukraine and Poland

March 2, 2022

Dear Parents, Guardians, Students and wider Salesian Community,

We have received an urgent request for help from the Salesians working in Ukraine and Poland in the following places: Bóbrka, Przemyślany, Żytomierz, Korosteszów and Odessa. Despite the war, the Salesians have remained with their parishioners and young people. People are taking refuge in our centres and in school basements.

Salesians have underlined two main areas of help that can be provided now: support the reception of refugees in the Salesian Centre in Przemyśl (about a 100,000 a day are arriving).

Don Bosco Aid in Ireland is acting as the coordinating body for the collections and transport of materials of items most urgently needed.

Any monies donated will go directly to the Salesians to meet the needs of the people on the ground in their areas.

You can find more details with an option for online donations (scroll to bottom of page) on our website: ” target=”_blank” title=”https://www.salesiansireland.ie/story/support-for-ukraine/”>”>https://www.salesiansireland.ie/story/support-for-ukraine/”>https://www.salesiansireland.ie/story/support-for-ukraine/
