Salesian Cycle Challenge – Thank You

March 12, 2024

Dear Colleagues, Students, Parents, and Community Members,

My sincerest gratitude on behalf of our school for the great support and enthusiasm showcased during yesterday’s annual Salesian Cycle Challenge.

The event witnessed an incredible turnout of cyclists, surpassing previous records, with our dedicated staff members also embracing the challenge wholeheartedly. A special commendation goes to the organising committee, led by Ms Armelle Mangan, whose exceptional efforts ensured the event’s seamless running. Our appreciation also extends to the stewards and marshals whose vigilance ensured the safety of all participants throughout the course. The culinary delights provided by our Home Economics department added an extra flair to the day’s festivities. Thank you to Derval for her photography and Ciara for coordinating the registration. Thank you to the woodwork Dept, supported by Kevin Geaney, for their help with temporary structures on the day.

Thank you is owed to Joe and Mike for their dedication both in the lead-up to the event and on the day itself. This was a collective effort by all staff members and for that we are grateful.

I would also like to express our gratitude to the Butterfly Club, Parents Association, Salesian clergy members, Ag College canteen staff, administrative team, management team, board members, teachers, and students for their invaluable contributions. Additionally, our heartfelt thanks go to the cyclists, Garda and Ambulance services, Ardagh Community Centre, The Thatch in Creeves, and all our local business sponsors.

A special thank you to all parents who generously gave money to the Butterfly club on the App.

This event served not only as a platform to showcase our school but also as a means to strengthen our bonds with the local community. Furthermore, it was a heartwarming opportunity to raise essential funds for The Butterfly Club in Rathkeale.

Once again, thank you to each and every individual who played a role in making this event a resounding success. Your support is truly appreciated and valued.
