For students going into 5th year September 2025.
Subject Options are now available for you to choose through VS Ware only. 3rd Year students who are going directly into 5th Year must also choose their subjects. If you are going into Transition Year there is no need to compete this.
IMPORTANT
Please ensure that when choosing your 5th year subject options that you must insert your top 10 subjects in order of prefence. Please double check VS Ware that you have your top 10 inserted. Students who do not rank as far as preference 10 may be allocated subjects at random.

Deadline to submit your 5th Year Options is next Wednesday, 2nd April 2025.
In March 2022, the Minister for Education Norma Foley, TD announced her ambitious plans for a reimagined Senior Cycle, Equity and Excellence for All, where the student is at the centre of their Senior Cycle experience. In setting out her plan, the Minister requested NCCA to prepare a schedule of senior cycle subjects to be reviewed and redeveloped.
Minister Foley also requested NCCA to develop two new subjects, Drama, Film and Theatre Studies; and Climate Action and Sustainable Development, providing greater choice for students to better reflect their range of interests and support the development of a wider range of talents and skills.
Tranche 1 subjects will be introduced to the curriculum for all schools in 2025 and are set out here:
