Three Bridges fundraising walk this Saturday 30th September 2023

September 26, 2023

Dear Parent/Guardian, Students & Teachers,

Please see attached – The Limerick Garda Division are hosting a Three Bridges fundraising walk this Saturday 30th September 2023 in aid of the Little Blue Heroes Foundation, which support seriously ill children.

The aim of the event is to clock up 5,000km across the iconic Three Bridges Walk in Limerick City between 8 am to 8 pm. We are looking for people, walking groups, families to help get us to the magic number of 5,000km. The Three Bridge loop is 3.6km in length, and will start and finish at the rear gates of Henry Street Garda Station. To reach the 3.6km goal, a total of 1,387 loops would have to be completed. The loop can be completed by walking, running or cycling.

The event will run alongside a family fun day from 12 pm – 4pm which will take place at the rear of Henry Street Garda Station where a number of local and national Garda units will be on display – Garda Band, Armed Support Unit, Dog Unit, Mounted Unit, Scenes of Crime, Roads Policing and many more. We are also expecting a visit form The Liam McCarthy Cup and the Paw Patrol Crew, along with local face painters and magician. A number of local musicians and Pipe Bands will also be there to provide some live entertainment. It will be sensory friendly from 12 pm – 12.30 pm.

If you are coming along to the fun day, you might bring the family along and consider donning your walking shoes and completing a loop or two to help us achieve our goal. Details on how to donate are in the attached poster, or there will also be an opportunity to donate what you can on the day.

You may wish to share this information with colleagues in your office/families/ and in particular if there are any walking/social groups that would be interested in participating. The more the merrier!

Your assistance, as always, is appreciated.

Regards,
